Waves crashes against the Flagler Beach Pier during the Nov 6, 2021 tropical storm. At times, the waves were higher than the pier. Flagler Beach Pier is known worldwide as a unique pier for residents, and tourist as a place to fish, surf around or walk to enjoy the beach views. The wooden pier was original built in 1927 at 1,000 ft. In 2016, the pier was was damaged by Hurricane Matthew and currently stands at approximately 600 ft. City officials are currently working on plans to rebuild the pier as a concrete structure.
